چکیده
10 kg., were used in this study. Under I.V. anesthesia, these specimens were taken from the following two groups of the dgogs; group 1) only under I.V. anessthesia and group 2) with unilateral artificially-made brain edema by inserting the rubber balloon extradurally via small burr hole. The subcellular fractions were separated to the phosphorous compounds utilizing Schneider's method and their specific activities were also calculated according to Alleu's method. 1) The decrease of ATPase activities was noted in the artificially compressed side of the hemisphere than that of the non-compressed side, and the control group respectively. 2) At 4 hour period following the compression, the ATPase activities of the cerebral cortex, marrow and the brain stem were noticed to be the highest among the compressed dogs, where as that of the cerebellum was noticed later 6 hour

The brain is an important organ that controls all sensory and motor actions, memory, and emotions. Each anatomical and physiological modulation in various brain centers, results in psychological, behavioral, and sensory-motor changes. Alcohol and addictive drugs such as opioids and amphetamines have been shown to exert a great impact on brain, specifically on the hippocampus. Emerging evidence ...
متن کاملEffects of psychotropic drugs on nerve growth factor protein levels in the rat brain
Introduction: Psychotropic drugs exert their effects, in part, by increasing neurotrophin levels in the brain. Nerve growth factor (NGF) protein levels after treatment with only a limited number of psychotropics have been determined. The present study was designed in order to evaluate the effects of acute and chronic administration of different psychotropic drugs on NGF protein levels in fiv...

متن کاملP 104: Effects of Human Neural Stem Cells in Cure Neuroinflammation of Traumatic Brain Injury
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is defined as an external mechanical injury to the brain. Neuroinflammation plays a vital role in the pathophysiology of TBI. Microglia and astrocytes play a central role in the initiation and regulation of inflammation. Numerous pro-inflammatory mediators including cytokines, chemokines, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO) released by microglia. In ...
